    FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Karen has been working on the vision for Heaven on Earth, without knowing it, her entire life. Formerly working in Seattle tech, she sold her company and built the sanctuary. She loves being in the presence of both animals and nature, and can be found sitting with a few of the 100 animals for hours, dreaming up what’s next for the sanctuary, the promotion of animal rights, and their wellbeing.

  • Shelly Van Skyhawk

    SANCTUARY DIRECTOR

    Shelly grew up with horses and loves all creatures great and small. She is equally at home with a 2000 lb cow, as a small duck. Shelly ensures each of our animals get their food, shelter and love needs met every day. She keeps the supplies fully stocked and manages the never ending lists of jobs for staff and volunteers.
